Amazon India has partnered up with Onida to introduce the Fire TV edition in India as its strategy to strengthen its position in Indian consumer electronics market. The TV will come in two sizes – 32 inches for ₹12,999 and 43 inches for ₹ 21,999, and will be available for purchase on December 20.
The Onida Fire TV Edition has built-in Fire TV features, allowing users to find and watch movies and TV shows from Prime Video, Hotstar, Netflix and more online streaming services. It is the same platform available to users of Amazon Fire TV Stick – you just get it pre-installed.
As of screen resolution, there are no details at Amazon’s listing page, however, Gadgets360 reports the 32-inch variant will have an HD screen, while the 43-inch model has a full-HD screen. The TV features Lucent Picture Engine technology for a rich visual experience. On the other hand, the sound experience is enhanced with Dolby Audio and DTS sound system.

The Onida Fire TV Edition comes with built-in Wi-Fi, 3 HDMI ports, 1 USB port and 1 earphone port for connectivity. A remote with built-in Alexa will also be provided to users for controlling the TV with voice commands, as well as for enjoying other smart features. It also has dedicated hotkeys for Prime Video, Netflix, Zee5, and Sony Liv.
Currently, Amazon Fire TV Sticks are available in the market to enjoy the Fire TV features, however, soon there will be a full-fledged Fire TV. We will surely update you as soon as something is revealed by the companies.
